Companies have to put the ingredients on the bottles or containers but people aren’t always aware of what the harmful ingredients are.

Phthalates: Phthalates can be called diethyl phthalate. Phthalates are thought to cause reproductive issues in men and women. They can also damage different organs in the body such as the kidneys.

Propylene Glycol: This keeps products from drying out. It causes skin and eye irritation and in severe cases, heart and kidney damage.

Talc: Talc is found in face powders. Talc can cause lung disorders and ovarian cancer.

Formaldehyde: This can appear on products as ‘DMDM hydantoin or diazolidinyl urea’ It can cause breathing difficulties.

Parabens:  Parabens are only dangerous when they are in high amounts. This is worrying as they are found in lots of makeup products. They can lead to fertility issues and breast cancer.
